Wooden board, plastic bag, balloon, Gorilla glue
Hansung University
Seoul

As the suspended sculpture moves, the shape of its shadow continuously changes.
The numerous pieces of wood, the plastic bag, the chewing gum, the twig, and the balloon are chaotically, hastily, and randomly connected, forming an object that appears dirty and unsightly. The artwork resembles a body, but not a complete one—it seems delicate, weak, and fragile. While the fragile elements in the lower part of the work intertwine wildly, the upper part consists of a hard and heavy object. Contrary to the laws of gravity, the heavy and solid components of the artwork appear to float above, while the lighter and more fragile elements remain below.
The artwork is suspended from the ceiling by a single wire, creating a sense of unease, as one can feel the looming fear that it might collapse if the connection to the ceiling is severed. Viewers can observe the movement of the piece, the interplay of light and atmosphere within the space, as well as the changing shadows that emerge through the interaction of light and the artwork.
This wounded body is fragile, ugly, and painful. It feels its own absence, unable to perceive emotions, and its mental parts are disconnected from one another, like mechanical components. It is rough, hollow, weightless, and lacks a clear and complete form. This fragile body carries the weight above and barely holds it up, appearing unstable and on the verge of danger.
