Gorilla glue, hair
Gallery Hi
Seoul

A glue called ‘Gorilla Bond’ is applied to the abdomen, and once it dries, it is peeled off, causing pain on the skin. This process creates an object that resembles human skin. Similar to how animals shed their skin, a human-like skin is reproduced. The objects bear patterns and traces of the skin, making the texture visible. Each piece is connected with human hair and suspended from the ceiling.
The work and the holes within it can be associated with the umbilical cord, which connects the unborn fetus to its mother during pregnancy. Viewers can look through the holes between the objects, symbolizing both distance and connection between mother and child.
Over time, the forms of the work change, and the connections between the pieces gradually dissolve. Eventually, after a long period, the work completely detaches from the ceiling and falls.
